Reduction Modulo Primes

Reduction Modulo Primes is a method in the study of elliptic curves that consists in mapping an elliptic curve defined over a number field to an elliptic curve over a finite field of prime order by reducing the coefficients of its defining equation modulo a prime ideal, thereby enabling the analysis of local properties and facilitating applications in arithmetic geometry and cryptography.
