Red Giant Evolution is a theoretical framework in stellar astrophysics that describes the late stage of stellar evolution wherein a low- to intermediate-mass star undergoes gravitational contraction of its core and expansion and cooling of its outer envelope, leading to its transformation into a red giant following the exhaustion of hydrogen in its core.
