Recombination-mediated Mutation
Recombination-Mediated Mutation is a genetic variation mechanism in viral genomes in which new allelic combinations arise through the exchange and integration of nucleic acid segments between co-infecting viral strains during replication, thereby distinguishing it from point mutation or deletion/insertion events by its dependence on homologous or non-homologous recombination processes.
