Reading Order Detection is a document image analysis task that identifies the sequential arrangement in which textual and visual elements within a scanned or digitized document should be interpreted by a human reader, distinguishing itself from other layout analysis tasks by prioritizing cognitive and syntactic coherence over spatial or structural grouping alone.
