Quench Detection

Quench Detection is a monitoring and diagnostic methodology within superconducting magnet systems that identifies the initiation of a quench by detecting characteristic deviations in electrical, thermal, or magnetic signals, thereby distinguishing it from other fault detection techniques through its specificity to the rapid transition from superconducting to normal conducting state.
