Quatrain Structure
Quatrain Structure is a prosodic framework in ballad poetry consisting of a four-line stanzaic form characterized by a regular rhyme scheme, typically alternating lines (ABAB or ABCB), and a rhythmic pattern usually derived from iambic meter, distinguishing it from other stanzaic forms by its brevity, thematic self-containment, and functional role in narrative progression.
