Protostellar Envelope Infall

Protostellar Envelope Infall is the process by which material from the surrounding molecular cloud gravitationally collapses and accretes onto a forming protostar through a dense, dusty envelope, distinguishing it from other accretion mechanisms by its large-scale, coherent infall geometry and dominant role in the early mass assembly phase of star formation.
