Protostellar Accretion

Protostellar Accretion is a physical process in star formation wherein gas and dust from a surrounding molecular cloud sequentially fall onto a nascent protostellar core under gravitational influence, distinguishing it from later accretion phases by its dominance during the early collapse and growth phase prior to hydrostatic equilibrium.
