Protocol Pre-Specification is a methodological safeguard in empirical research that consists in the explicit and prospective documentation of analytical procedures, inclusion criteria, and hypothesis-testing strategies prior to data collection or analysis, thereby distinguishing it from ad hoc or data-driven approaches by its temporal and procedural commitment to transparency and reproducibility.
