Price Squeeze

Price Squeeze is a strategic pricing practice in antitrust economics where a vertically integrated firm constrains its downstream competitors by setting the wholesale price of an essential input significantly above marginal cost while simultaneously offering a retail price for the final product that is below the sum of the wholesale price and the downstream competitor’s marginal costs, thereby foreclosing effective competition.
