Prewetting Transitions
Prewetting Transition is a first-order phase transition in which a thin adsorbed liquid film on a solid surface undergoes a discontinuous increase in thickness upon approaching the bulk liquid–vapor coexistence curve, occurring below the critical temperature and distinguishing itself from continuous wetting by the presence of a metastable thin-to-thick film transition.
