Pre-embryo Status

Pre-Embryo Status is a legal and ethical classification denoting the moral and regulatory standing accorded to a human embryo during the earliest developmental stage, typically from fertilization to the formation of the primitive streak (approximately 14 days), distinguished from later embryonic or fetal status by its ineligibility for legal personhood and its permissibility for use in research under regulated conditions.
