Prdm9-dependent Recombination

PRDM9-Dependent Recombination is a molecular genetic mechanism of meiotic recombination initiation in which the positioning of recombination hotspots is determined by the sequence-specific binding of the PRDM9 zinc-finger protein to genomic loci, thereby catalyzing histone methylation and recruiting recombination machinery.
