Potential Magnetic Fields

Potential Magnetic Fields is a theoretical model of solar magnetic fields in which the field is assumed to be current-free, satisfying Laplace's equation and derived from a scalar potential, thereby representing the simplest configuration that extrapolates observed photospheric magnetic fields into the corona under the assumption of zero electric currents.
