Pollen Wall Formation
Pollen Wall Formation is a developmental process in plant reproductive biology whereby the specialized extracellular matrix of the male gametophyte is assembled through the coordinated deposition of sporopollenin and other structural components, distinguishing it from other phases of pollen development by its focus on the creation of the pollen grain’s resilient and species-specific outer wall layers.
