Plug-In Bandwidth Selection is a bandwidth selection method in spatial density estimation that belongs to the class of plug-in approaches by explicitly estimating the optimal smoothing parameter through substitution of a pilot estimate of the density function and its derivatives into an asymptotic approximation of the mean integrated squared error.
