Photographic Performativity
Photographic Performativity is a theoretical construct in fine art photography that designates the deliberate staging of actions, identities, or events for the camera, wherein the photograph functions not as a passive record but as an active site of meaning-making through the embodied performance of the subject, thus distinguishing it from documentary or spontaneous photographic practices.
