Pet Relinquishment

Pet Relinquishment is a human-animal interaction phenomenon in which an owner voluntarily surrenders a companion animal to a shelter or third party, distinguished from other forms of animal transfer by its implication of severed custodial and affective bonds, often driven by socioeconomic, behavioral, or health-related challenges.
