Pervaporation

Pervaporation is a membrane separation process in which a liquid feed mixture contacts one side of a selectively permeable membrane and volatile components permeate through the membrane to the downstream side, where they are vaporized and removed under reduced pressure, distinguished by the in situ phase change from liquid to vapor across the membrane.
