Persistent Somatic Symptoms
Persistent Somatic Symptoms is a clinical construct denoting a singular, enduring pattern of physical symptoms—such as pain, fatigue, or gastrointestinal disturbances—that persist beyond normal illness duration, are not fully explained by organic pathology, and are distinguished by their significant psychological and functional burden, thereby differentiating them from transient or medically explained somatic complaints.
