Peroxiredoxin Chaperone Function

Peroxiredoxin Chaperone Function is a molecular function in which certain peroxiredoxins, under oxidative stress conditions, switch from their enzymatic role in peroxide reduction to a chaperone-like activity that prevents protein aggregation and supports proteostasis, thereby serving as stress-induced holdase chaperones.
