Peritectic Decomposition

Peritectic Decomposition is a thermodynamic phase transformation process in which a previously formed solid phase reacts with a liquid phase upon cooling to produce a new solid phase, distinguished by its specific invariant reaction pathway in multicomponent systems where the original solid decomposes into a different solid and liquid at a fixed peritectic temperature and composition.
