Performativity Of Femininity

Performativity of Femininity is a theoretical construct within gender and dance studies that denotes the repetitive, embodied practices through which femininity is socially constructed and aesthetically realized in ballroom and queer dance contexts, distinguishing itself from essentialist notions of gender by emphasizing its performative, contingent, and contextual enactment.
