Performance Of Blackness

Performance of Blackness is a theoretical construct in Afro-Latinx Performance Studies and Ethnicity in Performance that identifies the culturally mediated, embodied practices through which Black racial identity is articulated, negotiated, and contested within performance contexts, distinguishing itself by centering the intersectional dynamics of African diasporic heritage, linguistic expression, and sociopolitical resistance in the enactment of Black subjectivity.
