Peer Reference Review

Peer Reference Review is a formal evaluation process within medical staff credentialing in which a practitioner’s professional qualifications, clinical competence, and practice history are assessed through confidential inquiries directed to licensed peers who have firsthand knowledge of the individual’s work, thereby distinguishing it from administrative verification by its reliance on expert peer judgment to validate professional fitness.
