Passive Matrix Addressing

Passive Matrix Addressing is a display addressing technique in which rows and columns of a grid are selectively activated without individual pixel-level active components, relying on the inherent bistability or capacitive properties of the display material to maintain pixel states, thus distinguishing it from active matrix approaches that employ thin-film transistors for direct pixel control.
