Paschen-back Effect

The Paschen-Back Effect is a quantum optical phenomenon in atomic physics wherein the Zeeman splitting of spectral lines, under an external magnetic field, transitions into a regime of decoupled orbital and spin magnetic moments due to the dominance of the magnetic interaction over spin–orbit coupling, resulting in a linear dependence of energy-level shifts on the applied field strength.
