Particle Entrainment

Particle Entrainment is a hydrodynamic phenomenon within sediment transport processes wherein a discrete sediment particle is initiated into motion by fluid forces exceeding the threshold of resistance, distinguished from related concepts by its focus on the inception of particle movement from a stationary state to a transported state in fluvial or coastal environments.
