Partial Frequency Redistribution

Partial Frequency Redistribution is a radiative transfer model in solar chromospheric physics that describes the scattering of spectral lines where the absorbed and re-emitted photons are partially correlated in frequency due to the finite width of atomic energy levels and thermal motions, distinguishing it from complete redistribution by retaining a memory of the incident radiation field.
