Pachytene Pairing is a cytogenetic phenomenon, within the broader category of chromosome pairing behavior, characterized by the complete and precise alignment of homologous chromosomes during the pachytene stage of meiotic prophase I, where synapsis is fully established and recombination events are stabilized through the formation of chiasmata.
