P1 Component

The P1 Component is a positive-going event-related potential peak occurring within the middle latency range (approximately 50–130 ms post-stimulus) that is primarily generated in the extrastriate visual cortex and reflects early sensory processing of visual stimuli, particularly their spatial frequency and temporal dynamics, thus distinguishing it from other middle latency components by its polarity, latency window, and sensory-specific neural origin.
