Ovum Capture

Ovum Capture is a physiological process in the female reproductive system wherein the oocyte, following ovulation, is physically secured by the fimbriae of the oviduct for subsequent transport into the ampullary region, distinguishing it from other oviductal functions by its role as the initial step in gamete retrieval and peritoneal-to-luminal transition.
