Orogenic Plateau Formation

Orogenic Plateau Formation is a geological process denoting the tectonically driven uplift and broad crustal thickening of continental lithosphere, distinguished from other orogenic features by the development of a high-elevation, low-relief topographic plateau as a direct consequence of compressional stress and crustal shortening in collisional mountain belts.
