Orbital Hybridization
Orbital Hybridization is a theoretical model in quantum chemistry that describes the mixing of atomic orbitals within an atom to form a new set of degenerate hybrid orbitals, which differ from the original orbitals in shape, energy, and orientation, thereby explaining molecular geometry and bonding properties in covalent compounds.
