Optimal Design is a statistical experimental design strategy that belongs to the class of model-based designs and is distinguished by its criterion of maximizing a specified objective function—such as D-, A-, or I-optimality—to achieve the most efficient estimation of model parameters or precise prediction of responses under given constraints.
