Optical Theorem

The Optical Theorem is a fundamental principle in scattering theory that relates the imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude to the total cross-section of the scatterer, thereby establishing a direct connection between the rate of energy flux lost from the incident wave and the overall probability of interaction.
