Optical Snow Mapping

Optical Snow Mapping is a remote sensing methodology that uses visible and near-infrared spectral reflectance data from satellite or aerial platforms to delineate and monitor snow-covered surfaces based on their optical properties, distinguishing it from other snow mapping approaches by its reliance on passive optical observations rather than microwave or thermal signals.
