Occult Horror

Occult Horror is a subgenre of horror fiction in which the source of fear and supernatural menace derives specifically from occult practices, beliefs, or entities—such as witchcraft, demonology, ritual magic, or hidden esoteric knowledge—distinguishing it from other horror subgenres by its emphasis on the transgression of cosmic or spiritual laws through forbidden mystical power.
