Nonmaximum Suppression

Nonmaximum Suppression is an edge detection algorithmic technique that belongs to the class of post-processing methods used in image gradient analysis, specifically distinguished by its function of preserving only local maxima in the gradient magnitude while suppressing non-maximal responses along the edge direction to produce thin, accurate edge contours.
