Network-attached Storage

Network-Attached Storage is a file-level networked storage architecture in which a dedicated storage server, incorporating its own file system, is attached to a general-purpose data network to provide shared file access to multiple heterogeneous clients via standard network file protocols, in contrast to block-level storage area networks and direct-attached storage.
