Narrative Allusion

Narrative Allusion is a literary device within biblical scholarship that refers to a deliberate, extended reference to a biblical narrative, where the alluding text incorporates or recontextualizes elements of the source story to enrich its own meaning, distinguishable from direct quotation or brief allusion by its sustained engagement with the narrative structure, themes, or plot trajectory of the biblical prototype.
