Mossy Fiber Development

Mossy Fiber Development is a neurodevelopmental process within cerebellar morphogenesis that entails the guided growth, synaptic targeting, and functional integration of mossy fibers—excitatory axonal projections from pontine and other brainstem nuclei—into the developing cerebellar circuitry, thereby establishing the primary input pathways necessary for sensorimotor coordination and motor learning.
