Monotonic Compression Testing

Monotonic Compression Testing is a standardized experimental method in materials science that, as a subset of mechanical testing procedures, involves the continuous and unidirectional application of compressive load to a material specimen until failure or a prescribed deformation limit is reached, thereby distinguishing itself from cyclic or non-monotonic loading protocols by its invariant stress-path and absence of load reversal.
