Mixed Function Oxidase Induction

Mixed Function Oxidase Induction is a biochemical response mechanism in which the expression and activity of mixed function oxidase enzymes, particularly those in the cytochrome P450 family, are upregulated as a consequence of exposure to xenobiotic compounds, thereby enhancing the metabolic capacity of an organism to detoxify or bioactivate foreign chemicals.
