Miscegenation Laws

Miscegenation Laws is a legal framework consisting of statutes enacted primarily in the United States that prohibited interracial marriage and sometimes sexual relations between racial groups, particularly targeting unions involving white and non-white individuals, thereby institutionalizing racial segregation and reinforcing the social construct of racial purity within the history of whiteness.
