Midblock Capacity Analysis

Midblock Capacity Analysis is a methodological framework in transportation engineering that specifically assesses the maximum sustainable traffic flow rate within a uniform segment of an urban arterial roadway between two adjacent signalized intersections, distinguished from intersection-based capacity analyses by its focus on uninterrupted traffic conditions and the influence of factors such as lane utilization, vehicle composition, and midblock driveways or pedestrian crossings.
