A "Michigan Splint" is a maxillary, full-arch, hard acrylic occlusal splint designed to stabilize the temporomandibular joint and harmonize mandibular condylar position by establishing balanced occlusal contacts in both centric and eccentric movements, distinguished from other occlusal splints by its specific incorporation of the protrusive condylar angle and bilateral simultaneous contacts.
