About

Mediatization is a theoretical concept and research field examining the complex, long-term processes through which media and their logic shape social interaction, institutions, and culture. It investigates how the increasing prominence and integration of media technologies and practices influence and transform other societal domains, characterized by the adaptation of social actors and institutions to media formats and demands (media logic) and the growing reliance on media for information and social participation. Its significance lies in providing a comprehensive framework for understanding the pervasive and transformative role of media in contemporary society.
