Material Texts

Material Texts is a scholarly construct in English Renaissance Drama studies that refers to the physical and textual artifacts of early modern print and manuscript culture, distinguished by their emphasis on the book as an embodied object—encompassing features such as typography, paper, binding, annotation, and paratextual elements—through which literary meaning is shaped and interpreted.
