Material Balance Analysis

Material Balance Analysis is a reservoir engineering methodology that belongs to the class of reservoir performance prediction techniques, distinguished by its application of mass conservation principles to evaluate hydrocarbon reservoir behavior over time by equating cumulative production to the corresponding reduction in pore volume and fluid expansion within the reservoir.
